Donnelly Custom Manufacturing Hires Manufacturing Launch Manager

Position oversees program launch to ensure service and success

Alexandria, Minn. (April 15, 2015) – Donnelly Custom Manufacturing, an Alexandria-based injection molder of thermoplastics, announced the recent addition of Dave Hubbling as manufacturing launch manager to oversee product launches from engineering to production.

This addition reinforces Donnelly’s commitment to assisting customers successfully launch products into the marketplace. With limited room for error in manufacturing, a role such as the manufacturing launch manager is crucial for launching good products from the start. As manufacturing launch manager, Hubbling will work to ensure new tooling projects are successfully launched into production.

Hubbling brings years of experience in tool design, engineering and project launch. Prior to joining Donnelly, Dave served as technical project leader for Imation/3M, where he was in charge of launching new plastic parts into production. Hubbling also brings significant experience in building and repairing new injection molds from his time with Desman Engineering and Custom Mold & Design.

“Dave’s experience in building and launching molds will serve Donnelly and our customers well as he assumes this role,” said Jerry Bienias, vice president of operations at Donnelly. “He will help to ensure smooth and successful program launches as we continue to expand our footprint to help leading industrial OEM’s meet their business needs.”

At Donnelly, the manufacturing launch manager acts as a liaison between project engineers and other subject matter experts to ensure a successful launch. On average, the company handles more than 40 mold changeovers a day, making it crucial that capable tools are launched for every project to ensure great repeatability and reliability in production over the life of the project.

Dave’s hire comes as Donnelly continues to expand its manufacturing footprint with a larger press fleet and increased automation to meet customer’s increasing needs in short run manufacturing.
